2nd year

The children of year 2 A, B and C had great fun making these irregular verbs trees and playing games to win Amco dollars.

They found the past tense form of the verbs given. They wrote them and cut out the pieces of fruit. They coloured the tree and placed the verbs onto the branches.
They also practised the parts of the tree and we talked about Earth Day as we started doing these activities at the end of April.

They played spelling games, such as Hangman and Shark and they also played Bingo.
They love talking about themselves so they used the verbs to make real sentences about their past and as they want to use them all, they even invented sentences.
They learned a lot of irregular verbs whilst having fun.

5th year (A &B)

                        Travelling!
We all love travelling but as we can't do it during the school year we decided to go on a  virtual trip around the world .
Each of us planned to visit a country and did some research about it.

Then we decorated our classrooms with what we found out.

In groups we made some brochures about different activities that you can do during your holidays.

We also learnt  all about passports and plane tickets. We had to check in and give information about ourselves at the airport.

Travelling is great, but if you can´t do it... come to our classroom and travel around the world with us!

Welcome back !!
After a little hitch The English Corner is back and running again !!
And we´d like to start by giving a big WELL DONE to our 6 finalists in the national spelling competition SPELLING BEE organised by AMCO.

I have to say that in our school we havesome SUPERB SPELLERS !!
It was so difficult to get the 3 finalists of each category because there were so many children who didn´t make any mistakes.
In the end ( whether it was tiredness that finally got to them ??) we got our 6 finalists : Nicolas, David and Julio (2nd year) in the first category and Lucas (3rd year),Nicky and Martín (4th year) in the second category.
Not even the nerves of being on stage in front of hundreds of people troubled our boys. They were fantastic !!!
They all did really well and reached the final rounds. And to top it all  Laude Palacio de Granda won both of the competitions they entered !!
The only school to win 2 competitions !!!!!

Well done kids ! Your  parents and your school are so proud of you !!!

What happened before The Language Festival

WOW !!!!!!! Weren´t the children just fantastic in the Pied Piper of Hamelin ?
I think we can definitely say that they really enjoyed themselves and they showed us all just how well they can use their second mother tongue.

Here´s how a couple of groups prepared and got in the mood for the GREAT DAY.
Let´s have a look at the little ones first.

Does this look familiar ?
Yes , it´s the Union Jack !!! The boys and girls made an example of the Union Jack with finger paints(helped by Ryan,of course!)

But that wasn´t all that was happening ! The boys and girls in year 6 were lucky enough to be able to practice with the help of Serafin and his electric guitar !
HAVE A LOOK AT THIS !
