First year (1A)

Summer has arrived at last !!!! We have to make the most of the few good days that we get here in Asturias , so we took our work outside with us.

Have you ever done a giant wordsearch in teams ?

Each team had 30 seconds to find a word .

Of course the famous AMCO stickers were given as a reward for finding a word. Have a look and see if you can find any. I bet you can´t find as many as them !!!

2º ESO

I Love English

I love English is a magazine we get every two months.

It contains articles about music, cinema, celebrities and  it is also a useful guide to learn new expressions in English and a lot about life in the USA, England and Australia.

We not only read the magazine but we also do a lot of different kinds of activities such as dictations, listenings and role plays.

With I love English we love English even more.

Third year (3A)

Class 3A learned about a new way to tell stories. It is called "Kamishibai" This means" Paper Play" in Chinese. It is an ancient form of telling stories in the form of a small portable theatre, where the storyteller went from village to village. It is still used in China and Japan.

The boys and girls chose a story about Woolly Willy, a sheep who lived on an enormous sheep station in Australia. Woolly Willy played with his other lamb friends and Nipsey, the sheepdog. One day all the sheep were rounded up and taken to have their fleeces cut off. This is called mustering time. Woolly stood very still whilst the wool was cut off his back and tummy. He and the other sheep loved this activity because afterwards they were very cool in the hot Australian summer. And the humans liked it too, because they could use the wool to make clothes to keep warm in the winter.

In our photos you can see the children drawing and coloring beautiful pictures to illustrate the story.

They wrote the text and stuck it on the back of the previous picture.

This is so that when the audience is looking at the pictures the students can tell the story from behind the wooden theatre and change each picture as the story unfolds.

We liked preparing and telling our Kamishibai story so much that we went down to the infants class and showed them - they loved it too!!

2 year olds

Although the weather tells a different story, summer has arrived and in the 2 year olds class, we can see the sun everywhere.

As the weather hasn’t permitted us to go outside and use our caps, we have  played with them in the classroom instead. We´ve hidden them (similar to how the sun hides) and afterwards we’ve had to find them.

Have a nice summer !

OUR GARDENERS (3B Primary)

Taking advantage of the break given by the rain, the students from 3ºB visited our vegetable garden and did some work on it.
The most important thing for them to do was to water the lettuces, tomatoes, peppers and strawberries.
After 3 days without rain, the plants looked a bit sad and very thirsty.

They all collaborated by collecting and carrying water and shared different jobs such as watering the vegetables, pulling out weeds and scaring off snails. And above all, they had lots of fun!
